On Ego

November 9, 2004

It seems to me that keeping a blog is just about the most egotistical thing I can do. Just throwing my opinions out into the ether under the assumption that anybody really cares or should care well, that does take some ego. From reading certain other blogs, having something actually worth saying seems secondary, but Ive never been short of opinions.

Well, Im as egotistical as the next person, and Im up for the challenge.

Whereas my initial posts are of a political and social nature and the majority will likely to be in the future Ill also be touching on all the other stuff Im involved in, from our culture to the comics world to the social service and advocacy communications stuff Ive been doing. And Ill certainly be sharing a lot of stories, as I do in real life. Such as it is.

Please respond, provoke, start a fight, make yourself known, tell your friends, and amaze your enemies. Here I go, tits to the wind. With thanks to the late great Jim Hes Hot, Hes Sexy, Hes Dead Morrison, welcome to Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mind.

Is that "Malibulist" (muh-LIB-uh-list) as in "somnambulist"?

And, hey, is there a way to get e-mail notification when you post something new? Because this e-mail thing isn't going away...

Only you, Mike, could get me to read a blog. I now feel a part of the 21 century. Gretchen

Steve Gilliard posts recipes in-between the rants.

Find your niche.

And best of luck.

For the people who want notification when Mr. Gold posts something new, download the Firefox browser and set it as one of the RSS feed you get, and you can click and see what the topics are. And no, I'm not tech savvy anymore, so just download the browser and figrue it out...if I can do it, anyone can.

And as someone who starts most discussions about First Comics with "Their best asset was the editing of Mike Gold, and we need that in comics today", it's good to see you finally making some noise I can hear.
